There is no need to book for this event, but you will need to sign in on the racing form on the day. Briefing at 10:30 with the first start at 11:00. We will aim to have the prize giving at 16:00 at the latest. There is no hire charge for Club boats sailed in this event but please remember to sign boats out. Boats will not be available for general hire between 10:30 and 16:00 pm on the day. for dates please see the club calendar or your programme. Junior Race SeriesPut all that you've learned during Junior Sailing Week to good use by joining in with the Junior Racing Series. These races take place in September and October with the start at 12pm, finishing about 1pm. All classes of boats can compete from Oppies to Lasers. There is no need to book, though you will need to sign in on the racing form on the day. There is no hire charge to use Club boats for racing, you will need to sign your boat out though. Junior Team Racing Team racing consists of two teams each having 2 or 3 boats per team. The challenge is to cross the line in a winning combination (a number that adds up to less than 10) so 1,2,3 or 2,3,5. The boats use tactics to try and increase the position of losing boats and trying to delay their opponents in order to secure the highest winning combination. It's can get competitive, but is excellent fun and really develops great sailing skills. Team racing is welcome to all Junior members above the age of 8. Practice sessions are usually on a Sunday before the club races. If you are new to team racing, come along and have a try as a crew with lots of help from experienced juniors and coaching from ex-juniors experienced in team racing.
